Good luck. Microsoft really screwed the pooch on this update. So many broken PCs. Definitely a good idea for fixes when things like this happen. Will it ever expire? Probably a dumb thing to ask lol. And Atleast this happening to me will be a lesson to store anything important to me on a drive. Was there a recent update that did this? My brother just called me saying his pc did this exact thing overnight. I just sent him to get a usb so he can try a repair after creating an install media.
So I guess that was the problem but idk. This happened to me last night after updating. PC keeps failing to start over and over again. I tried resetting Windows but that failed. Download and burn that ISO to a usb drive.
The installer should be able to guide you through and fix the rest. If I do a clean install of Windows will it delete all of my files as well? I also have the same issue OP is having but on a Dell If you choose that you should be fine. The repair option should in theory be able to see any previous installations on disk and try to recover it.
